GENESIS RODRIGUEZ
Genesis A. Rodriguez, born in Boston, MA began her first rendezvous with dance as a folklorico dancer, performing traditional dances from latin American and the caribbean islands of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Ms.Rodriguez then began her professional dance training at Boston Arts Academy. Genesis was a part of Origination’ Nia Dance Troupe from 2011-2015. Genesis completed her bachelor of fine arts in dance performance at Montclair State University in May 2019. Genesis has performed works by renowned choreographers Rennie Harris, Darrell Moultrie, Mark Morris, and Frederick Earl Mosley. Currently, Genesis is the Dance Coordinator at Hyde Square Task Force located in Jamaica Plain, MA. Genesis oversees the Ritmo en Accion Dance program at Hyde Square as well the off site dance education curriculums integrated at local middle and high schools. Genesis continues to work with Origination by teaching at various dance programs often held in the spring and summer times and has returned to perform at their annual benefit dance gala in the fall.
