Nadjya Facey has a strong background in the performing arts with various styles of dance, music, spoken word, and theater. She received her training through the OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center from 1994 until 2010 and continues to stay connected to this present day. She has performed dance in various places throughout the east coast as well as the first international dance tour to South Africa in 2007 with NIA Dance Troupe. She received a Bachelor of Arts for Music/Business Management from Berklee College of Music, a Masters of Management with a concentration of Business from Cambridge College, and a Masters of Secondary Education from UMass Boston.

 

Since 2015, Nadjya changed careers to become a high school Math teacher for Boston Public Schools. She also teaches Zumba to help keep dance alive and has obtained three certifications since 2013. OrigiNation has instilled the importance of leaving a positive imprint and to uplift and educate those around you, despite their different walks of life. As Marian Wright Edelman said, "Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it."
